Robotics

This week we have been working on our Robotics project. What we are doing in this project is challenging ourselves to build a robot. We would need partnership, building, and thinking skills. The chance given to us 9th graders for building a robot is awesome. You may think building a robot is hard, but as you put your mind to it, its actually not. Me and my partner have begun creating our robot. Partnership is a big step. I enjoy the work of my partner, she helps a lot. At first I could not see myself getting into  creating a robot. But experiencing the steps of building a robot is all about focusing. Building a robot takes time to make perfection. I hope this can continue to be a excellent project.

Ingenuity Festival

Today's blog is about the Ingenuity Festival. The Ingenuity Fest is often described as a technology and art fest, where two different things often meet and connect. For the Ingenuity Fest, we 9th graders will be designing seats. The problem that we are solving is "How can we make seats in order for people to communicate?" Each and every one of us 9th graders will be divided in to groups. Once we have our groups, we will start to come up with a designing plan. For a strategy like this, we will need thinking, focus, faith, honor, creativity, and partnership skills. We need to know how much space we are taking up and what we are using. We need to make seats that can fit 6-8 people. Hopefully our creation will be successful. We would like to thank the Ingenuity Fest for giving us this chance to create with our hearts, mouths and mind. We hope they love our project and understand that we 9th graders did our best.

Aerobics Steps

This past week of school we have been working on creating aerobic steps. Aerobic steps are steps that help us stay healthy. Doing this activity helps me understand the concepts of building. The tools that we use are very dangerous. Using these materials makes me feel that I can do anything that men can do. All men and women are equal! Although the school is called Design lab, to be honest I would've never thought we would work with real life problems to solve using tools such as thinking and problem solving. To me, this experience is amazing. Building and creating, helps me understand that I can build anything that's possible. This helps my academic skills because it helps me build partnership, accuracy, thinking, ideas, and strength.
These skills will help me in the future, so that I can build progress. This experiment gave me the strength to know that I, Joenae', can build what I want. The Maker Space fills me with ideas to build with. The way I feel about the Maker Space is the same way I hope everyone else feels.

ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE IF YOU JUST BELIEVE!!!

My Life

Hi, My name is Joenae' Gullatt. I am a 9th grade student at Design Lab Early College High School. I have 7 brothers and sisters. I love all my family. I love working hard. I am smart, funny, loving, caring, and I have self-confidence.One thing about my life that I can relate to everyone else's  is that i'm not perfect , and yes I do make mistake. To me mistakes are life lessons. Mistakes that you make are tests, to see whether or not what you would do. Never regret a mistake, because its your mistake and not nobody else's.
